How did I get into photography, you ask?
It all began with my grandfather, who served as a photographer during WWII in the South Pacific. When the war ended, he turned to photography to support his family by becoming the track photographer at the New Orleans Fair Grounds. My father followed him into the business years later. Both my father and grandfather not only understood lighting and exposure, they saw art in the nitty gritty of thoroughbred horse racing. I have always found their work inspiring. I received a Bachelor of Fine Art's Degree and have merged the photojournalistic style that I learned from my family, with the fine art I learned in school to create my own brand of photography.
What do you love about weddings?
Weddings are a special occasion when families comes together to celebrate. Love can be seen in the small gestures- a dad straightening his son's tie before he heads into the church, the flower girl dancing with the bride on the dance floor. I take a photojournalistic approach to the day to tell a complete story of when two becomes one. Formal portraits are always taken, but I want to get you back to the party to celebrate! Those are my favorite pictures- couples laughing, dancing and living in the moment.
What do you love about families and newborns?
I am blessed with the opportunity to catch a child's true spirit through the lens. Those little baby snuggles are the best, and they grow so fast. These are the memories that should be printed and cherished because children won’t stay little forever.

"You know you had a great photographer when your husband says "let's get married again! I loved that day" after looking through all the photos for the first time. "
She captured so many beautiful shots but our favorite shots were of our second line. It started raining during our second line and she really captured the moment and the fun that we had dancing and singing in the rain. We will always treasure our wedding photos and the wonderful job that Amanda did!
She truly has a passion for what she does and it shows in her work and her interaction with her clients I cannot thank Amanda enough for everything she did for us and look forward to working with her again!
